We had a great time. The environment is beautiful. The second hike was quite tough but they gave us poles which was very helpful and it was definitely worth it. Every time they refilled the water and the snacks. Lunch was also very good. Big Kudos to our driver and guide, Joseph and Joseph. The were very knowledgeable and entertaining. They made sure everyone was having a good time.

Our guide Josef was fantastic. He passionately shared his vast knowledge of the area and the country. His English was exceptional. He was very engaging and spent time with each hiker. So glad that we started early in the day to avoid some of the crowds. The Bastei Bridge views were incredible. We carefully hiked Pravcicka Gate and Josef gave us several breaks to catch our breath and grab a drink. Lunch at the small restaurant was delicious and the service was quick. We had fun walking through the Narnia Rocks and hearing about them from Josef.

Tour guide and drivers very friendly and knowledgeable, have been doing for 9or so seasons I believe so it’s hard to ask them a question they don’t know. Great snacks and water on board. Walk isn’t as strenuous as other “hikers” outfits make out, I did it in crocs and Levi shorts and as a girl that will only agree to any kinda walk if there’s a pub at the end, and there was!

How much does a day trip from Prague to Bohemian Switzerland cost?

Is it worth leaving Prague for a day?
If you have three or more days in the city, we think it is the best day of the trip — and reviews tend to agree. Prague has churches and old squares in every direction; what it does not have is a sandstone canyon, Europe’s largest rock arch and a rock labyrinth from the Narnia films, all within a two-hour drive.
Can I get there by public transport from Prague?
Partly. In season a train-and-bus combination reaches Hřensko and Pravčická Gate, but it takes three-plus hours each way and the German side — Bastei Bridge — stays out of practical reach. Our trips cover both countries in a single day with pickup at your hotel.
Which trip should I choose if it is my first visit?
From April to October, choose the Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland day trip for Pravčická Gate, Bastei Bridge and the Tisá Rocks. From November to March, choose our winter day trip to Bastei and the Tisá Rocks. If you are travelling on to Dresden, the private sightseeing transfer combines the journey with stops at Bastei and Tisá.
How far is Bohemian Switzerland from Prague?
About two hours by road, straight north along the Elbe. Pickup is at 08:00 and you are on the first trail by mid-morning — and back at your Prague hotel by early evening.
Which trip involves the least walking?
Our winter day trip from November to March focuses on Bastei and the Tisá Rocks, with shorter walks. The sightseeing transfer also visits these two locations without the climb to Pravčická Gate. Both still involve walking on outdoor paths. If you are unsure which route suits you, tell us about your walking needs before booking. Is this suitable for children, or for older travelers?
Yes, with the right trip. The Tisá rock labyrinth is a natural playground, groups are capped at 10 people and the pace bends to the group. For anyone worried about climbing, the winter trip and the transfer stay on easy ground throughout.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The trips run in rain, and the sandstone looks its best in mist. Your guide adjusts the route to the conditions — that is the advantage of going with someone who walks these trails year-round. Only genuinely unsafe conditions cancel a departure, and then you get a full refund or a new date.
What else is worth visiting from Prague?
Kutná Hora, Karlštejn Castle and Český Krumlov are the classic trips, all easy to research and manage on your own. We only guide the national parks — that is the one place near Prague where a local guide genuinely changes the day.
