Walk across the historic sandstone Bastei Bridge and explore the surrounding viewpoints carved into the rock towers. From here you’ll see the Elbe Canyon open up below - one of the most striking panoramas in the region.
Pravcicka Gate – Europe’s Largest Sandstone Arch
(April - October). Follow a forest trail to Pravcicka Gate, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe. The final viewpoints open suddenly in front of you, revealing one of the region’s most impressive natural landmarks.

Excellent Outdoor Option from Prague
This was a fantastic day trip. Our guide, Adam was well-informed, easy-going, and helpful. The Bastei Bridge is chock full of romantic viewpoints. Lunch was hearty and delicious. The hike through sandstone rock formations was even better. Adam brought cleats to help us negotiate the ice and enjoy the strange rocks and the views from the mesa top.
